RED SOIL

Image
Cosmopolitan it may seem, Humanity bursting at the seam, Diverse colours almost obscene. All are heard; none are seen. Uniformity in diversity, Chaos in serenity, Ugliness doing beautifully, Still a village disguised as a city. Myriad and diversified, Complex and haughty, Confident, un-unified, Of adulation, always worthy. EDO! My land for-ever o! Oba gha to kpe e I-s-e-e-e.....

The Lady is Dead. A Tramp Lives

Image
Nigeria is like a woman who has let her-self go with excuses of child-birth, busy schedule and so on and so forth. We, the citizens are like the long suffering husband who married a hot, firm, tight bodied standard-cynosure-of-all-eyes babe that has morphed into a cold, cellulite-infested-stretch-mark-ridden, sub-standard hag. Nigeria. We still remember her laughter of so long ago and still see the memory of her once radiant smile now buried beneath jowls of chin fat and enlarged pores. Nigeria We remember that once firm ripe body that has now become saggy and bloated due to neglect. Nigeria... Nigeria. NIGERIA! A name that evokes strong emotions in us all. We still have feelings for you, even if we look at you with thinly veiled disgust.

I Chose LIFE

Image
Still being able to have the ability to Love and the capacity for Love is a blessing indeed. I choose to overcome the negative aspect of my nature. I choose to be child-like towards life. To appreciate the simple pleasures of every-day life. I choose to LIVE- not exist. I choose to LOVE- not hate.

Good! Lucky Jonathan (GLJ)

Well, what can I say? This is a clear cut case of "what will be, will be". Nothing is more glaringly evident than this. GLJ is the ONLY Nigerian president who ever got the position without the use of force and without formal election. We can only say it's simply DIVINE INTERVENTION. Just the same way God had to step in, in the case of our previous power infested dictator: Sani Abacha. He has done it again in the course of the political history of Nigeria. The North and their parasitic essence have been feeding off the South since and even before the inception of our "independence". Perhaps, this is God's way of showing that Nigeria is still blinking on his radar. After FIFTY years, half a century- we still don't have electricity, water, transporation, national security and basic amenities. Well, as gargantuan as that task might seem, he just might step in again through GLJ. We can only hope, because that's all this country is running on.....
